T-Mobile Park originally opened as Safeco Field in 1999 and is primarily used as the Seattle Mariners’ home stadium. T-Mobile is well recognized as one of the best places in the country to watch a game. It has a one-of-a-kind retractable roof that prevents fans from getting wet in the rain but doesn’t close on the sides, so you still experience that fresh, marine air. In addition to baseball, T-Mobile park hosts large concerts, some past performers include Paul McCartney, Beyonce and Jay Z, Foo Fighters, and Pearl Jam. The ballpark is located in the SoDo neighborhood, —about a mile south of downtown. Transportation options are plentiful. T-Mobile Park is right by I-90, and has plenty of parking available in the T-Mobile Park Garage, across the street at CenturyLink Field, or private lots nearby. Public transportation options are also numerous. You can quickly and reliably get close to the ballpark by bus, rail, or train, with T-Mobile Park being less than a 10-minute walk from the Stadium or Chinatown-International District Light Rail Stations, and Union Station.
