CHEER ON THE KRAKEN!

The Seattle Kraken have struggled recently, winning only once while losing four since March 9.  Their only victory was 2-1 in overtime against San Jose.  The skid has dropped Seattle to 7th in the Western Conference.

The Kraken look to get back on track, but the schedule is tough with four road games at Dallas, two against Nashville, and one against Minnesota.  Sitting just two points ahead of Winnipeg for the 8th seed, the Kraken will need a strong road trip to keep pace before returning home to face the Anaheim Ducks on March 30.  Seattle has a combined 2-2-1 record against the next four opponents this season, and has an excellent road record this season of 22-9-3.  The Kraken are relatively healthy which is a great thing this time of the year.  Center John Hayden is out with a lower body injury and there is no timetable for his return.  Hayden had two goals in seven games this season.

The Kraken is in the middle of the league in goals allowed per game at 3.19.  Offensively, Seattle has been among the best teams in the league, ranked 6th in goals at 3.48 per game.  During their recent skid, the Kraken were outscored 21-15, although three of the games were decided by one goal.

Regardless of what happens during the final 13 games of the season, The Kraken have made substantial improvements from their inaugural season.  They already have 38 wins with the playoffs within their reach.
